Voodoo Robotics Launches Interactive Cloud Display Device Simulator: See Exactly What Every Pick-to-Light Instruction Looks Like Before You Send It

PLANO, TX — August 11, 2026 — Voodoo Robotics, a leading innovator in wireless warehouse automation, today announced the launch of an interactive Cloud Display Device simulator on its Developer Portal. The free, browser-based tool renders a pixel-accurate 296 × 128 e-ink display: change any field — text lines, boxed quantity, directional arrow, barcode, QR code, or LED flash color — and the simulated screen and the corresponding API payload update together in real time. Anyone evaluating or integrating light-directed picking can now see exactly what a worker will see on the shelf before a single device is installed.

“Screenshots and spec sheets only get you so far,” said Trevor Blumenau, CEO of Voodoo Robotics. “An operations manager wants to know what the display will actually say when an order drops. A developer wants to know what JSON produces that screen. The simulator answers both questions at once — you build the instruction visually, and the exact API call is right there next to it. It turns a day of back-and-forth into thirty seconds in a browser.”

Every Display Field, Live in the Browser

The simulator exposes the full vocabulary of the Cloud Display Device: two 26-character text lines in the five-field layout, a boxed quantity from 0 to 63, eight directional arrows, Code 128 barcodes and QR codes, and the six LED flash colors used to signal and confirm work. A Magnify mode lets users test scanner-ready barcodes and QR codes at full resolution, and Simple and Advanced modes cover everything from a first “flash” command to production-grade instructions with durations and nonces.

From Simulated Screen to Working Integration

Because the simulator displays the API payload beside the rendered screen, it doubles as a living reference for WMS and ERP integrators. The surrounding Developer Portal guide walks through the full closed loop — connect, command, confirm — with copy-ready Python and curl examples, so a team can go from the simulator to lighting a real device with the same JSON. The tool complements Voodoo Robotics’ library of free, open-source integration code for platforms including Odoo, QuickBooks Online, and ShipStation.

Built for Buyers as Much as Builders

The simulator is equally useful before any technical work begins. Warehouse and manufacturing managers can mock up their own part numbers, bin locations, and pick quantities to see how instructions will read at the shelf, at a put wall cubby, or on a pick cart — and share a realistic picture of the workflow with their teams. No registration, download, or hardware is required.

The Cloud Display Device simulator is free and available immediately at developer.voodoorobotics.com.
